Nanoprecipitation preparation of low temperature-sensitive magnetoliposomes

Lysolipid-containing thermosensitive liposomes (LTSL) have gained attention for triggered release of chemotherapeutics. Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPION) offers multimodal imaging and hyperthermia therapy opportunities as a promising theranostic agent. Combining LTSL with SPION may further enhance their performance functionality LTSL. However, major challenge in clinical translation nanomedicine is the poor scalability complexity preparation process. Exploiting nature self-assembly, nanoprecipitation simple scalable technique preparing liposomes. Herein, we developed novel SPION-incorporated lysolipid-containing liposome (mLTSL10) formulation using nanoprecipitation. The processing parameters were carefully designed to ensure high reproducibility stability mLTSL10. effect solvent, aqueous-to-organic volume ratio, concentration on mLTSL10 size dispersity was investigated. successfully prepared small (∼100 nm), phase transition temperature at around 42 °C, doxorubicin encapsulation efficiency. Indifferent from blank LTSL, demonstrated that combining both can be approach.
